Know the return policy.

Most retail stores are usually a full season ahead.  If you want the best selection you need to shop early.  Don’t be afraid to ask when a particular season is coming out.  If you would rather save money, shop as they are putting the next season out and get the highly discounted prices.  

Here is an example:  We were looking for a new patio dining set but did not want to pay the spring prices.  We went to Lowes in mid-August, they were already clearing out their patio furniture to get ready to bring in the Christmas merchandise and we were able to get an $800 set for under $150.

TIP - If your child grows at a pretty steady pace purchase clothes a year early.  For example most Children’s clothing stores will begin to put out their fall/winter line of clothing early to mid summer.  So if you shop for Children’s clothes in the middle of summer most of the new clothes will be for fall which means the summer clothes are most likely now on clearance.  This is the time to get summer clothes for A GREAT PRICE and put them away for next year.  THIS ALSO IS A GREAT IDEA FOR HOLIDAY/SEASONAL ITEMS AND DECORATIONS.  GET THEM FOR 50% - 90% OFF AND PUT THEM AWAY FOR NEXT YEAR.
